On Friday 12th at 15,40 hours and Saturday 13th at 15,45 hours the unique astronomical vision of the double sunset behind Monte Forato could be seen again just a few hundred metres from the Grotta del Vento. The solar disc went down to be partially covered by the natural arch, and then reappeared almost entirely through the hole of the arch, before disappearing completely behind the mountain.
Weather permitting this magical event will still be visible tomorrow Sunday 14th and Monday the 15th from the road which from the Grotta del Vento goes to Vergemoli, immediately past the Trimpello house.
For those of you who want to take advantage of this occasion we strongly recommend that you observe the phenomena through a dark glass to avoid damaging your eyes. For two euros one can buy one of those green or blue glasses used on welding masks.
